Aug 15, 2021 · The Harbeth speakers are on the market since 1977 and are designed and owned by Mr Alan Shaw. They are called neutral and natural sounding monitor speakers. Also it seems they have a strong fan base (Harbeth User Group: HUG). The speakers are expensive, their life cycle is very long with moderate inovations.

Feb 17, 2022 · I am interested in hearing from members that have owned both Harbeth and Spendor Classic speakers. Unfortunately, the nearest Spendor dealer is over 3 hours away. I'm interested in the 2/3, 3/1, maybe 1/2 which might be large for my space. The speakers would be 2 to 2-1/2' from front wall, listening chair 7-8' from speakers against opposite wall.

Jul 17, 2017 · seriously, there's no doubt in my mind that ATC are just as good as Harbeth and probably in the top 5 best dynamic speaker companies in the world. no question especially since their new made in house tweeter that every model have since 2015. id be very surprised if harbeth 40.2 vs atc scm100 would favor the harbeth.

Jul 25, 2019 · In my area, the local dealer carries both Harbeth and Audio Note speakers. A lot of his sales of Audio Note speakers are to people who come in interested in the Harbeth speakers. This dealer also carries ProAc and speakers that are made in house. I like all three regular brands (the custom stuff is really good, but, most of it is quite pricey).

Nov 3, 2016 · The old klipsch and harbeth speakers are very pleasing to me aesthetically. If i were to go the klipsch route, i would probably thus opt for tubes. If i opt for harbeths i will stick to my SS monos i think, as i don't find 85-86db to technically sensitive enough for 35-40wpc tube amps.

Feb 9, 2022 · Another one worth trying is the Tannoy Eaton ~ $5k and it sounds different than most speakers but I really like them - I wish I were a billionaire because I would have so many speakers - Speaker slut. These things sound fast and open and exciting - a little less refined but still - I enjoyed them. Prestige series indeed.

They have some sense of speed that I lived with with my previous speakers plus wonderful mids and upper frequencies that were more gentle than the Triangles, and more bass presence than I had expected.
