Inductees - Alabama Music Hall of Fame
Induction to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame is reserved for a select few Alabamians who have made exceptional musical contributions throughout their careers. The first induction was held in 1985 and occurs every other year, commemorated by a celebratory Induction Banquet.

The Alabama Music Hall of Fame is conveniently located at 617 Highway 72 West in Tuscumbia, Alabama (the Northwest corner of the state). Only 2.5 hours from Nashville, 2.5 hours from Memphis, 2 hours from Birmingham, and only 1 hour from Huntsville.

In addition to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, Cole was posthumously inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame and Hit Parade Hall of Fame. Cole was awarded with a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1990.

Seven years later, Hawkins – who continued to play trumpet and perform live well into his 70s – became one of the first five artists inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. He died in Willingboro, New Jersey, at the age of 79.
