University of Houston student leaders are demanding better campus safety after recent crimes, including thefts and a sexual assault. The student’s latest attempt to have their voices heard included a Thursday afternoon protest.

After 10 days on the run, Eric Latroy Brown, accused of raping a UH student at knifepoint and was mistakenly released 24 hours after he was put behind bars was recaptured by METRO police.

Eric Brown, 40, was arrested for his alleged role in the Feb. 7 incident on Tuesday in East Downtown, just hours after authorities offered a $5,000 reward for information on his whereabouts.
