Netflix Inc.’s stock was flat Friday after Benchmark analysts reiterated their sell rating on the stock even as they raised their price target by 30%, arguing that it’s looking overvalued in a momentum market.

Doing a little analysis in the wake of these events, it looks like Wall Street is still too bearish on Netflix — even with the stock up 86% year to date. Perhaps this group thinks Netflix is that young streaming company from years ago, burning money and raising debt to fund content investments.

It may come as a bit of a surprise to learn that Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) stock has been one of the biggest gainers in the S&P 500 for 2024. With shares up just north of 90% on the year, shareholders are sure to be wondering if it's time to hit the sell button or if the fast-moving streaming giant has more performance to show off.
