A tie at the Minnesota Senate has come to an end as the DFL's Doron Clark is projected to win the special election for District 60 with 90.9% of the vote.

Democrat Doron Clark has won the special election in Minnesota Senate District 60, confirming majority control for the DFL in the Senate. A special election was held in the district – which covers northeast and parts of southeast Minneapolis –following the death of Sen. Kari Dziedzic of cancer last month.

Doron Clark will replace the late Senator Kari Dziedzic. The DFLer won with 91% of the vote in the deep blue district. That gives his party a one-seat majority in the chamber.
