WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita man has pleaded guilty in the May 2023 murder of his mother, according to the district attorney’s office. Devin N. Joel was found competent to stand trial on Dec. 30, 2024. During the same hearing, he pleaded guilty to:

Kemal Ibrahim, 24, from Canterbury, and Mohammed Hgar, 31, of no fixed address, were charged with Mr Gerezgihir's murder and with possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The man accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend – a well-known northwest suburban doctor – formally pleaded not guilty to murder charges on Thursday.
