Jeep is recalling more than 194,000 plug-in hybrid SUVs worldwide because they can catch fire with the ignition turned off. In addition, Jeep is urging owners not to charge the SUVs and to park them outdoors and away from structures until they are repaired.

Stellantis STLAM.MI said Monday it is recalling 194,000 plug-in hybrid electric Jeep SUVs to address fire risks after 13 fires were reported, and it told owners to park outside and away from other vehicles until recall repairs are completed.

The automaker has asked owners not to charge their vehicles and park them away from structures and other vehicles while it searches for a remedy.

Stellantis is recalling 194,000 Jeep 4xe plug-in hybrid SUVs globally after 13 reports of battery fires, and is telling owners to park outside and away from structures, as well as avoid charging, until a fix is implemented.

Certain Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe models are affected, with the vast majority being U.S.-market vehicles.

Chrysler parent Stellantis NV is recalling 154,032 Jeep plug-in hybrid SUVs in the U.S. owing to fire risks, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The news comes a day after the company’s shares plunged as it cut its earnings guidance.
