I've been working with PHP and mySQL for the past couple years, but haven't really had the 'chance' to explore much further. I see several job listings talk about postgreSQL and msSQL and such.

I have heard a lot of people recommend postgresql over mysql because of its advanced features. The database will be handling many scripts automating websites and storing inputted data.
