The restaurant opened in August 2010 at 220 E. Third St. Lockhart’s is owned by Drew Ciora. Ciora also owns the Royal Oak Brewery, Detroit Beer Company, and The 313 Pizza Bar in Lake Orion.

Lockhart's BBQ in Royal Oak is closing at the end of the week after 15 years in metro Detroit. Their last day of service will be April 20.
