Modular developed its Mojo language as a faster alternative to Python. According to the startup, a program written in Mojo can run up to 68,000 times faster than if it were implemented using Python.

Modular will use the capital to enhance its AI programming language and its other product, a software tool called AI Engine that promises to make companies’ neural networks faster.
