After a year-and-a-half of effort, consultant MMGY NextFactor unveiled a new vision of Haliburton County tourism to council Dec. 11.

The South Keys design blueprint is part of a bigger plan to manage long-term change along a 4-km stretch of Bank St. between the Greenboro park-and-ride and Lester Rd.

Some of the plan’s key elements mirror those of a series called What’s London, launched by The Free Press in 2011 and still going on in 2012 when ReThink London was launched.

Public feedback led to some tweaks and corrections to St. Joseph County’s comprehensive plan for growth and preservation over the next 20 years as it gained its first approval on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
