SQL Server 2005's Type 4 JDBC driver provides database connectivity from a Java application. Though the driver class and connection URL are a bit different in this version, connectivity is a snap.
The Connection Properties dialog opens. For my sample ITworld application, I changed the data source to Microsoft SQL Server (SQLClient), and entered the necessary Server, Log On, and database values.
Please note that Integrated Security=false was set in the connection string used above, as the example uses SQL Server Authentication. If Windows Authentication is used, this must be adapted.
