The sky over Winnipeg was among the smokiest in the country Friday morning, prompting warnings from Environment and Climate Change Canada to limit time outdoors.

Environment Canada suggests the city’s air quality will stay at “moderate risk” levels until at least Saturday.

St. John's is hosting the Canada Games, with thousands of people visiting the city as either spectators or participants in the event. As wildfires burn across the province, N.L. Premier John Hogan says the situation is being closely monitored.
