Arduino Materia 101 is, instead, an almost foreseeable and completely expected merging of two of the hobbyist world's most popular toys: microcontrollers and 3D printing.

Like the Arduino microcontrollers, the printer will be open-source. The machine features a print area of 140 x 100 x 100 mm, and a print volume of 1,400 cubic mm.

The 3D printed version has been created to make the design available to more people and uses an Arduino Uno development Board together with a piezo sensor for the drum.
