The Philadelphia Flyers announced they have acquired forwards Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier, as well as a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and seventh round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft from the Calgary Flames in exchange for forwards Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost, according to General Manager, Daniel Briere.
Considering how both players started the season, it’s nothing short of remarkable that the Calgary Flames were able to extract any value in trading Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night.
In the end, this is not a perfect trade for the Flames, either. They get two players who could work out for them in the long run. In the same vein as how Kuzmenko and Pelletier could work for the Flyers. Until that happens, though, it's hard to give them the highest of grades.
