Light smoke has been reported at the Vistra Battery Facility in Moss Landing. Monterey County officials say the smoke appears to be coming from the previously burned area within the Vistra Moss Landing Lithium-Ion Battery facility. It's been nearly a month since a large fire swept through the facility.

It happened again. There was another fire at the Vistra Energy battery storage facility near Moss Landing in Monterey County on Tuesday night, leaving residents worried about the potential negative health effects this will have on the public.

The first fire revived fears in Morro Bay about the dangers of battery energy storage facilities, and the Morro Bay City Council temporarily blocked the approval of new permits for any such project.
