Still need your Real ID by the deadline? MVC appointments are disappearing — fast.
On Thursday, at 7:58 a.m.,all 28 MVC licensing centers had appointments open to upgrade a standard driver’s license to a Real ID license, according to the MVC website. By 10:25 a.m., 18 MVC agencies had no appointments available.
What if I don’t have a Real ID after the deadline?
Those who wish to obtain a Real ID must go to a DMV office. You cannot get a Real ID online, by phone, or through mail. There is no additional cost to get a Real ID. However, all normal transaction fees still apply. An Enhanced ID will cost an extra $30, in addition to the normal transaction fees.
