Texas' Kevin Durant (2007) and LSU's Cameron Thomas (2021) own the highest points per game among freshmen who played multiple NCAA tournament games, each averaging 28.5 points over two games. Each player scored 27 points in a first-round win followed by 30 points in a second-round loss.

The SEC broke a record with 14 tournament bids. A record four of those teams advanced to the Elite Eight, and now two to the Final Four. However, despite that top-end success, the conference does not boast the best overall NCAA Tournament winning percentage.

Kampschroeder scored 13 points during Michigan’s 80-74 win over Iowa State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. She didn’t score in the Wolverines’ 76-55 loss to Notre Dame in the second round, but she has no regrets.
