The notice of potential tuberculosis exposure quickly follows an alert regarding The Cove at La Jolla nursing home

Members and visitors of a church in La Jolla may have been exposed to tuberculosis, according to a release Monday from the county of San Diego.

With health officials saying the exposure appears to involve drug-resistant tuberculosis, some medications typically used to prevent the lung disease might not be effective.

The county’s Tuberculosis Control Program is collaborating with The Cove at La Jolla Post-Acute Care Center to inform current and former residents, as well as employees, of potential exposure to tuberculosis.
