Chad Aaron Aanerud, 35, faces a dozen charges, including murder, kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct after an alleged abduction last week in Brainerd.

Chad Aanerud, 35, faces two counts of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, four counts of kidnapping, two counts of second-degree assault, one count of first-degree arson and one count of theft.

Chad Aanerud, 35, was charged Monday in Crow Wing County District Court with 12 criminal counts, including second-degree murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, arson and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office reported it believed the shooting death and the apparent abduction are related incidents.
