ARLINGTON — Evacuations are underway due to a fire in a natural gas well near the Continuing Education building at the University of Texas Arlington. UT Arlington police said the fire is under control, but urges people to stay away from the area until further notice. Students were sent a MAV Alert to evacuate.

According to the university, normal campus operations were able to resume about an hour after the initial announcement.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which involved an air compressor inside a shed at the site, firefighters said.
