The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for all of Massachusetts due to the potential for more than a half foot of snow across the region this weekend.Boston 25 Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz has us on a Weather Alert for Saturday night into Sunday morning.

A weekend winter storm will bring biting temperatures and dump several inches of snow on areas from the Midwest to Northeast.

Snow will fall from Minnesota to Maine, with heavy amounts probably falling from Wisconsin to Massachusetts. Freezing rain and sleet will also be a big issue.

Snow totals varied across the state, with accumulations approaching as high as 2.5 inches along and north of Route 2, forecasters said.

STORM We are on WEATHER ALERT for a wintry mix today. Snow will develop mid to late morning. Most accumulation will happen through early afternoon with snow then sleet. Accumulation will range from a coating-2″ in extreme southeastern MA to a widespread 2-4″ along the MA Pike into Boston and Worcester and southern NH.
