The SpaceX Crew-10 mission of NASA was its first Pacific splashdown in 50 years and SpaceX's third with people on board. The last time NASA astronauts splashed down in the Pacific Ocean was during the Apollo-Soyuz mission in 1975.

Their Dragon capsule called Endurance is scheduled to splash down at approximately 11:33 AM Eastern time off the coast of California.

The capsule separated from the ISS on Friday before beginning its fiery reentry, heating up to about 1,925 degrees Celsius. As it neared Earth, large parachutes deployed to slow its descent from 28,100 kilometers per hour to just above 25 kilometers per hour.
