Luke Kornet wore No. 40 during his time in Boston, but he is switching it up in the San Antonio Spurs. He gave the reason by honoring Duncan.

He got to show that humor off in his first meeting with San Antonio reporters after signing a $41 million deal to join the Spurs. The start of the humor began with Kornet's jersey number choice: 7.

Spurs centre David Robinson accepted a lesser role with the team early in Duncan’s rookie season after San Antonio made the 6-foot-11 forward the No. 1 pick in the 1997 draft.
