PSV Eindhoven on Friday said United States men's national team striker Ricardo Pepi is likely out for rest of season after injuring his knee in January in a Champions League match against Liverpool.

San Elizario’s Ricardo Pepi signed a new deal with PSV Eindhoven that will keep him with the club until mid-2030. The Eredivisie club announced it reached a new deal with the 22-year-old striker on Sunday.

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands — PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi will be out of action for “a long time,” coach Peter Bosz said Friday after the United States international sustained a knee injury in a midweek win over Liverpool in the Champions League.

United States striker Ricardo Pepi has extended his contract with PSV through to 2030. Pepi was subject of a $26 million (€25m) bid from West Ham last week, an approach PSV rejected, according to ESPN sources. News of that interest came soon after he played a starring role in PSV's 3-2 win over Liverpool, where he scored the winner.
