Qantas pilots are preparing for the launch of Australia’s first “longest-range” plane, which will allow for more non-stop routes.
Qantas will redirect the 13 Jetstar Asia Airbus A320 aircraft to routes in Australia and New Zealand. Around 500 jobs could be axed from the Singapore-based airline which serviced 16 routes in Asia.
The group today announced a special livery, featuring the Yes23 campaign logo, on three Qantas Group aircraft – a Qantas Boeing 737, a QantasLink Dash 8 Turboprop and a Jetstar Airbus A320.
Qantas will acquire 68 A320/A321 aircraft and has 40 options and purchase rights. It will also buy 31 B737-800 aircraft, and has 49 options and purchase rights.
