A new lawsuit alleges for the first time that people died because of the disastrous 2023 East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment.

Two years after the derailment, researchers are stepping in to track how low-level, long-term environmental exposures are affecting the health of East Palestine residents.

It was two years ago that the lives of residents of nearby East Palestine, Ohio, and the Darlington area of Beaver County just inside Pennsylvania were blown up by a train derailment that burned for days and then was exploded, creating a chemical cloud that hung for hours over the region.
