The already expensive $700+ PS5 Pro isn’t getting a price increase in any region. And Sony announced a slight price drop for the optional PS5 disc drive that can be attached to a digital-only model.

Sony is cutting the price of the “slim” PS5 digital edition by $70 through December 24th. Typically, that PS5 model costs $449.99, but it will start at $379.99.

Sony has revealed that it will be giving a big price cut to the PlayStation 5 throughout the holiday season. Outside of some rare deals in the past, Sony has rarely discounted the PS5.

The price of the standalone PS5 disc drive having gone down to €79.99, £69.99, $124.95 (AUS), and $139.95 (NZL) across these four regions. So, that's something at least.

As we're well into November, there's no telling how long this new PS5 Pro UK price be active. But it's definitely one of the best early Black Friday PS5 deals I've seen so far.

But the PS5 Pro still managed to bring in 50 percent more total US revenue in its launch month, owing to the PS4 Pro's much more reasonable $400 launch price (or $533 in 2024 dollars).
