Fire breaks out at a school in northern Nigeria, killing at least 17 children
ABUJA, Nigeria -- At least 17 children were killed in a fire that broke out in an Islamic school in northwestern Nigeria, the country’s emergency response agency said, as authorities launched an investigation into the cause on Thursday.
Seventeen children burnt to death in Nigeria school fire
The fire is said to have broken out in a nearby house and spread to the school while the children were asleep.

No fewer than 17 students have lost their lives in a fire incident which occurred at an Islamiya school in Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.The fire which started late on Tuesday night and raged for about three hours left 17 others injured.
