I am by no means a Python Guru, but the code did work for me in converting a 50k line Excel file to MySQL. The script converts data from an Excel file into MySQL-compatible INSERT statements.

Having the mysql client installed would make my life too damn easy, and that just wouldn't do!<BR><BR>Seriously, what you're suggesting was my first inclination but alas, no SQL client was to be had.
