First, find the area on the map that you’d like to drop the pin on, such as a nature trail or a perfect parking spot. Next, touch and hold that location with your finger.

This label will show up when you’re browsing around Google Maps and it’ll appear in search results as well—it’s handy for a pin that you know you’re going to be coming back to in the future.
