With Python in Excel, users will be able to type Python code directly into an Excel cell. The Python calculations will run on Microsoft’s cloud servers and be delivered back to the Excel sheet.

In a blog post, Microsoft stated there will be no need for any extra setup to add Python code to Excel. Users can just use Excel's new PY function to type in Python code in an Excel cell.

Microsoft 365 Insiders can check out a new version of Excel in Windows that now includes the Python Editor inside the app. It will also continue to be available as an add-in via Excel Labs.
