To check which version of Java you're running, you'll need to use Windows 10's Command Prompt app. The Command Prompt can seem intimidating at first, but if you know what to type, you'll be fine.
If you want to switch to Java 18, locate and type the associated number for Java 18 and hit Enter on your keyboard. The system will set Java 18 as the current version.
Java Tester: This site contains all the resources you will need to verify your currently installed Java version. Java Tester also gives you tips to detect Java versions on Mac computers as well.
Go to Java's "Verify Java Version" web page. 2. Click on the "Verify Java version" button to check which version of Java your computer currently has installed and whether or not you need to update it.
Check the Enabled option to permit the latest Java Runtime version. Click on OK button to apply the setting changes. Click OK in Java Control Panel to confirm the changes.
