Minecraft players can modify their gameplay experience in a multitude of ways and across different editions, thanks to Java Edition mods and Bedrock Edition add-ons.
There are several mods and add-ons for both Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition (Image via CurseForge) Despite being over a decade old, Minecraft remains one of the most popular games in the world.
Add-Ons are basically a curated list of mods approved by Mojang that work just as with the Java Edition, with which players continue to expand on the many different ways they choose to play Minecraft.
As a free and open-source application for Java edition, there are hardly any reasons not to use Minecraft Forge - many mods even require this mod loader to operate.
Aside from Add-Ons, the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition and Pocket Edition have lacked any means of modding or customizability.
