Microsoft (MS) Access and SQL are different database applications with pros and cons. But, instead of choosing between them, you can, as it turns out, make them work together.

The Connection Properties dialog opens. For my sample ITworld application, I changed the data source to Microsoft SQL Server (SQLClient), and entered the necessary Server, Log On, and database values.

"After installing this update, apps that use ODBC connections through Microsoft ODBC SQL Server Driver (sqlsrv32.dll) to access databases might not connect," Microsoft said.
