Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has used the “nose wipe” as his celebration since leaving Oklahoma and becoming a Dallas Cowboys receiver in 2020. Now we learn the NFL has said enough is enough. They have learned that Lamb's "celebration" is actually conveying some sort of gang-related message that someone is not trustworthy.

The NFL has been trying to take violent celebrations out of the game over the past few years, which is a big reason why no one is allowed to celebrate a big play or a touchdown with a throat slash anymore. This year, the league also added the 'nose wipe' to the list of banned celebrations.

The NFL recently implemented a ͏rule change ͏that has sparked significant debate among players and͏ fans alike. ͏The league announced that the “wipe͏ ͏your nose” celebration will͏ now result in a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty due ͏to its perceived violent connotation.

The NFL has placed a ban on the "nose wipe" celebration, much to the dismay of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb who will no longer be able to use the gesture.

Said gestures “shall include but not be limited to a throat slash, simulating firing or brandishing a gun, or using the ‘nose wipe,'” according to a snippet of the unsportsmanlike conduct guidelines shared Wednesday on X by ESPN analyst Benjamin Solak.

The NFL sent the full rules report to its 32 teams this week and included is an addition to the unsportsmanlike conduct rule. In Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1 (d) the NFL has made the "nose wipe" celebration illegal.
