Jerod Mayo and his staff are likely safe from being fired this season, according to a report from The Athletic.

The Patriots lost Sunday to the Rams, but the game did bring the incredible return of defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who made his season debut despite practicing once since being diagnosed with blood clots in July. Barmore played 21 snaps and registered three tackles in the loss.

"We lack execution in some of the critical times in the game that we really need to convert, and that’s what a good football team is,” said the coach.
