The ZX-81 keyboard was bad, but IMHO the Oric-1 keyboard is worse. As bad as old school flat membrane keyboards are, chicklet keys are even worse IMHO. The IBM PC Jr. Keyboard is a VERY close second.
Control everything with a DAC, and you have a programmable load controlled by an Arduino. With such a small form factor, getting rid of all that heat was bound to be a problem.
