New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier is week-to-week with an upper-body injury, head coach Sheldon Keefe announced Wednesday. Hischier was injured after taking a cross check up high by Montreal captain Nick Suzuki during the second period of the Devils' 4-3 overtime win against the host Canadiens on Saturday night.

New Jersey scored four times in the second period and Jake Allen made 24 saves as the Devils defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 5-0 on Wednesday.

Suzuki won a faceoff back to Kaiden Guhle, who passed to Carrier. His slap shot eluded Allen, tying the game at 3 just over 3 1/2 minutes into the third period. It was Carrier’s first goal since being traded to Montreal from the Nashville Predators on Dec. 18, 2024.
