Solána Imani Rowe, who goes by the stage name SZA, indirectly owes her career to Kendrick Lamar. She met members of the “euphoria” star’s former label, Top Dawg Entertainment, during the CMJ New Music Report in 2011. Her boyfriend’s clothing company was sponsoring a show in which Lamar was performing.

SZA is Lamar's former Top Dawg Entertainment labelmate. She appeared his recent album “GNX” and was featured on a couple songs including “Gloria” and “Luther,” which also features sampled vocals from Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn through “If This World Were Mine.”
