At Arkansas, Burns will replace Lance Harter as the distance coach. Harter, who spent 33 years as the Razorbacks’ head coach until his retirement in 2023, coached Arkansas’ distance runners in an interim role during the 2024 cross country season after Megan Elliott left to accept a coaching position at Nebraska last August.
