National carrier Air India on Wednesday said that flights operated by Vistara will start using the flight code 'AI2' after the merger of the two airlines next month.

The consolidation, set for November 12, will mark a significant restructuring in India's aviation industry, following the recent integration of AIX Connect with Air India Express

Ahead of the merger, Air India said Vistara experience will remain, and the the flights operated with Vistara aircraft will have numbers starting with the prefix 'AI2'. Vistara's planes, crew and service will continue to operate as before.

Vistara will officially stop operations on November 12, 2024, following its merger with Tata Group’s Air India. The announcement in August revealed that passengers will be redirected to Air India’s website for bookings, and Vistara flights will continue under the ‘Vistara’ brand until November 11.
