A trust from Sugar Land, Texas, won the state's largest-ever $800 million Mega Millions jackpot, keeping the winner's identity private.

A trust in Sugar Land has made history after claiming an $800 million jackpot, the largest in Texas Lottery history, officials announced Thursday. The claimant, The Sol Living Trust, won an estimated annuitized $800 million jackpot prize that was advertised for the Mega Millions drawing held on Sept. 10, a news release said.

The Sol Living Trust from Sugar Land, Texas, claimed the $800 million Mega Millions jackpot as the state's largest lottery prize.

A Sugar Land resident secured the $800 million jackpot prize for September's Mega Millions drawing, and they opted for the cash value of over $400 million.

The winner opted for the lump sum at the time of purchase. The Lump sum is valued at over $400 million, according to the Texas Lottery.
