Raleigh police arrested a man Wednesday in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 71-year-old pedestrian on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Abdirahman Hassan Bare, 23, is charged with felony hit-and-run resulting in serious injury or death and misdemeanor death by vehicle n the Jan. 5 death of Delores Richardson, court records show.

According to investigators, 71-year-old Delores Richardson was crossing Raleigh Blvd. on foot outside of the crosswalk of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. 23-year-old Abdirahman Hassan Bare was traveling south on Raleigh Blvd. driving a Chevy Impala with a green light in his direction of travel.

Officers were dispatched around 10 p.m. Wednesday because of a reported shooting, said Jordan Gulkis, spokesperson for the Lansing Police Department.
