NEW YORK — A Red Flag Warning will be in effect across the entire Tri-State Area from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. A smoky scent continues to fill the air as a result of ongoing wildfires throughout the region.

New York City has issued a red flag warning that will stay in effect until 6 p.m. Friday. A notice on the NotifyNYC social media account says, New Yorkers may see or smell smoke because of multiple wildfires burning in New Jersey.

For the first time in days, the Northeast was under no red flag warnings, but officials cautioned that fire danger in the region remains high.
