Three days after the attack, the Mumbai Police finally arrested the accused in Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan's stabbing case in Thane. The accused is identified as Mohammed Sajjad. Some reports claim that his name is Mohammed Aliyan. However, he initially told the cops that his name was Bijoy Das from West Bengal.

In a major breakthrough in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, the Mumbai Police arrested a man from Thane in the wee hours of Sunday for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan in his house, police said.

The actor was immediately taken to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital for treatment after sustaining major injuries, including stab wounds to his thoracic spine.
