Ayodhya: The BJP has taken an early lead in the Milkipur by-election, with initial rounds of vote counting underway. The counting process for the crucial seat in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, began on Saturday, drawing intense attention from both the BJP and the Samajwadi Party (SP).

With this victory, BJP now holds all five assembly segments in the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency. The other segments include Rudauli, Bikapur, and Ayodhya in Ayodhya district, along with Rudauli in Barabanki district.

BJP's Chandrabhanu Paswan was leading by a margin of 22,152 votes against his Samajwadi Party (SP) rival Ajit Prasad after the eighth round of counting for the Milkipur assembly bypoll on Saturday, according to the Election Commission website.
