A federal judge in California ordered the Trump administration to halt any efforts to withhold funds from cities and counties deemed so-called sanctuary jurisdictions for refusing to cooperate with U.

A federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s funding freeze for local governments with “sanctuary” policies amid the president’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants. US District Judge William Orrick in San Francisco on Thursday granted the cities’ request for an injunction while the legal fight plays out.

"Here we are again," wrote U.S. District Judge William Orrick, who blocked a similar effort during the president's first term.
