The Elk Fire in Wyoming's Big Horn National Forest near the town of Dayton has burned nearly 40,000 acres. Fire crews say it expand more.

The town of Dayton, Wyoming, has been put on a "ready to evacuate" status as a massive wildfire continues to spread across the Bighorn National Forest just six miles away.

The Elk Fire in Sheridan County, Wyoming, continues to grow. As of now, according to the U.S. Forest Service, the fire has grown to approximately 32,000 acres. The wildfire remains at zero percent containment at this time,
