The crowded oceans could spit out another storm this week, right on the heels of Hurricane Helene, and Florida is paying close attention. The National Hurricane Center is watching two disturbances that have good shots at becoming storms this week — but one in the Caribbean is a more immediate system to watch.

The National Hurricane Center continued to watch a tropical disturbance in the Caribbean that could move into the Gulf of Mexico in a few days. The hurricane center said the system could become a tropical depression in the next several days.

AccuWeather warns that one to two tropical storms could crop up in the western Caribbean Sea over the next week as the National Hurricane Center tracks one disturbance already. An area stretching from the western Caribbean to the Gulf of Mexico is expected to continue being a zone capable of fueling tropical development into the first half of October.
